Of course, there are times when you may realize the need for a change, but something is blocking you from being motivated to take action. I draw on my training in motivational interviewing at times such as this to help you locate the resources already within you to boost your level of commitment to take steps in the direction you already want to go.
Those resources include your abilities, values, wants, needs, and remembering a friend or family member who believes in you. Whether you are using a substance, or you might be addicted to toxic thoughts and emotions, discovering the right focus releases the energy you need to act.
